Focus on the Family: Father & Daughter Brunch Date

Focus on the Family Malaysia is organising a Father & Daughter Brunch Date as a special day for fathers and daughters to spend time together over a meal – one to one.

This unique bonding event is specially designed for fathers with teenage daughters from ages 13 to 19.

What’s it about?

Lee Wee Min, Executive Director of FOFM says, “At Focus on the Family, we believe that every father can make a difference in his daughter’s life.” He adds that the activities and time spent at this special event will give fathers a chance to affirm his love for his daughter, reassure her as a young woman, as well as to connect and bond with her. Dr. Kevin Leman, a well-known psychologist and author believes that “If there’s one man who matters in a woman’s life, it’s her father.”

FOFM believes that as the primary male role model in a girl’s life, fathers influence their daughters in profound ways, from how they see themselves to what they come to expect from men and the world at large. Especially as girls move into adolescence, fathers may find themselves feeling distant from their daughters or awkward with the changing dynamic. Communication becomes difficult and parenting issues more complicated. But this is also the time when daughters most need their fathers to be an even greater presence in their lives.

“We hope that every father will take time out to spend a special day with their daughter and explore the tremendous rewards this relationship can bring,” said Lee.

  1. What a beautiful brunch idea. I attribute so many of the lessons I learned in life from my father…. and am sad that we lost touch for some time there in my adolescence (though according to this it’s not that uncommon). I’m glad there are things like this to help strengthen the bond.

XOXO and thanks again for gracing my blog with your beautiful words. All the best for a lovely week!
