Dreams of a domestic tyrant

Like Stasha, I love Monday Listicles.

I get to read some interesting lists and comments (the List-Addict that I am), meet some fabulous moms and feel that I’m not alone in this whacky, glorious life of being a SAHM. (Or should I say WAHM, since I haven’t worked harder before in all my life after becoming a SAHM!)

Wendy of Twisted Domestic Goddess chose a nice theme for this week’s Listicles. After working off my butt doing homeschooling prep and domestic jobs over the past few weeks and missing out on blogging, I can so relate!

10 Things I’d Rather Do than Clean the House

1. Go out on a date with people I love: Sweet Man. The kids. My parents. My long-suffering, faithful friends who never give up inviting me to dinner.

2. Drink coffee. Or tea. Depending on the mood. With cookies.

3. Volunteer at church or Harvest Centre.

4. Give myself a pedicure.

5. Read.

6. Sleep.

7. Run.

8. Blog. Write. Seriously.

9. Work on my dream organic fruit and vegetable garden. (Now aka. “The Jungle”)

10. All of the above, without feeling bad knowing that my house is churning out its usual humdrum mess while I’m enjoying myself!

Other than running, I’m pretty much in agreement. Cleaning is absolutely no fun at all!

Oh yes any of these would be much better than cleaning house!

We should work on our jungles together, and by work on, I mean call my dad and say: Dad, my jungle, then wait for him to show up with trowels and cute little garden hoes.

You make the coffee, I’ll make the cookies and we can work on that organic garden together

Good on you. But the garden, what happened? The Jungle will transform, just put it into your curriculum as a project. Kids like to explore in the jungle 🙂

I’m jealous of anyone with a green thumb. Having a jungle must mean yours is pretty darn successful!

I wish I could garden, or somewhat enjoy it. Buts i hate it more than cleaning!

Yup, all of the above plus homeschooling in order to avoid housecleaning.

Great list! I find myself doing most of that when I should be cleaning!

Ah, the jungle. I had one of those till we moved. Now it’s someone else’s jungle! If our houses would just stay clean after we cleaned them, life would be so much better!

Funny, I’d rather be at home and baking bread for my family and friends instead of enslaving myself to a desk and becoming overly prospoerous. The grass is obviously fakely greener on the other side.
